AGP is making a significant investment to expand the crush capacity of its soybean processing facility in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa. Matt Caswell Vice President, Member/Corporate Relations says they continue to invest in areas that enhance AGP’s competitiveness like the domestic and global soybean meal market.
The facility also produces soybean oil which continues to see increased growth with the emphasis on renewable fuels.
Caswell that final construction decisions are contingent on negotiations with state and local officials regarding economic development, utility rates and services, and regulatory considerations.
He says they are confident this investment will generate strong returns for AGP coop members and benefit farmer-producers throughout the region. AGP received assistance from The Siouxland Initiative, Woodbury County and the Iowa Economic Development Authority for their project.
