AGP has announced plans to build a new soybean processing plant near David City, Nebraska. Matt Caswell AGP Vice President, Member/Corporate Relations says the facility will have the capacity to process over 50 million bushels of soybeans annually. The project is being driven in part by the tremendous growth the soybean processing industry is experiencing. Plus, East Central Nebraska is strategically located.
Caswell says the David City location will also improve the company’s ability to market soybean meal to the Pacific Rim through AGP’s export terminal in Aberdeen, Washington. AGP is currently considering investments that will significantly increase export capabilities to meet the expected growth in domestic protein supply.
He says this facility won’t initially include biodiesel or renewable diesel production, but those are options in the future.
Caswell says this opportunity and investment will generate solid returns for membership and benefit producers throughout the region. AGP expects operations to begin in 2025.
