Summertime heat is here and the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services wants residents to know there are services available for those who need help dealing with it.
Part of that help is an offer to pay the air conditioning bills of the most vulnerable Nebraskans. Program Manager Britton Gabel with the department explains the requirements…

One way the department is trying to help is through an outreach program that gives cooling fans to Nebraskans in need. Gabel says the fans are distributed through local organizations….

This year, the program is partnering with thirty-two organization in 24 counties. To find out if a local organization near you is participating contact your nearest DHHS office.
