Ag Secretary Visits Nebraska And Meets With Farm Bureau President

Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue traveled to Alliance, Nebraska Thursday as part of his Back to the Roots tour. State Farm Bureau President Steve Nelson met with the Secretary. He says Perdue talked about his and the President’s wishes for having Congress pass a new farm bill this year.

Nelson says Secretary Perdue also talked about wanting to see the Chinese trade problem resolved as well as a positive finalization to the NAFTA discussions.

He says Perdue also talked about his backing of year round use of E15.

Nelson says he has concerns about allowing RINS to be used for exported ethanol., although there will likely be more discussion about it going forward.
