Ag Secretary Outlines Farm Bill Implementation

Wednesday was the 6 month anniversary of the passage of the 2014 Farm Bill.  Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack says USDA has been busy working on the implementation of the legislation. He says they’ve paid out disaster payments to over 160,000 producers so far and eventually will dole out an excess of $ 2 billion in payments.

Vilsack says they’ve also been busy working on the changes in the farm bill effecting the crop insurance or risk management program including the ARC and P-L-C..

Vilsack says they’ll also be rolling out the dairy program this fall.
