The 2017 ABA National Agricultural Bankers Conference is underway in Milwaukee and ag lenders are voicing their support for Farm Service Agency Loan programs, both guaranteed and direct. Kansas Banker Shan Hanes, Vice Chairman of the Ag Bankers Committee says his bank has had a good working relationship with FSA and likes how the guaranteed loan programs operate.
He says ABA wants changes in the next farm bill that will allow for higher FSA loan limits, as well as providing more funding for direct and guaranteed loans.
Hanes says he thinks they’re making progress with Senate and House Ag Committee members in pushing for more funding and higher loan limits.
700 ag bankers are attending their annual conference in Milwaukee this week.
