The South Dakota Senate accepted an amendment placed in the Governor’s Ag Development Zoning Bill and approved it sending the measure to the Governor for her signature. Both Houses had earlier passed the legislation. South Dakota Farm Bureau Lobbyist Mike Held says the amendment didn’t alter the bill very much.
He says the bill makes it easier for county zoning board’s to make their decisions on development projects and also expedites that process.
Held says the legislation will lead to more businesses locating or relocating to South Dakota thus boosting the state’s economy.
Held says the Ag Development Zoning Bill was supported by several agriculture and non agriculture groups alike and received heavy approval from both the South Dakota House and Senate.
