AFBF Chief Economist Details Inflation Concerns

United States farmers and consumers are feeling the pain of growing inflation, especially regarding food items. American Farm Bureau Federation Chief Economist Dr. Roger Cryan says supply chain disruptions are partly to blame.

However, he says the root of the problem is even more closely tied to efforts by the U.S. government’s efforts to prop up the economy through the pandemic.

Unfortunately, Cryan says both U.S. monetary policy and supply chain issues look like they will continue for a while.

He says higher energy prices are also adding to the inflationary woes.
