Aetna is Leaving Nebraska’s Health Care Exchange

Aetna is leaving Nebraska’s health care exchange and that leaves one insurer for next year.  Omaha insurance agent Art Jetter says there are a lot of “ifs” right now.  He says the U.S. House voted to replace the Affordable Care Act with a plan that will likely face stiff opposition in the U.S. Senate.  If they can’t get on the same page there is a chance ACA would continue but there would few health care plans to consider.  Jetter says that opens up another big issue.

Jetter says that would be through Medicare.

Medica will be the only company left in the Nebraska Healthcare Exchange.

Jetter says this is a problem that needs to be solved quickly.

Aetna’s decision comes as Democrats look to preserve and repair ACA and Republicans push to eliminate it.
