ADM Considering Selling Ethanol Plants

Archer Daniels Midland is reportedly considering selling two of its ethanol plants, one in Iowa and the other in Nebraska. Iowa Renewable Fuels Association Executive Director Monte Shaw says if the Renewable Fuels Standard volumes were set at their statutory levels, this would probably not be a consideration.

Shaw thinks ADM officials are just weighing their strategic options at this time, but not seriously looking at selling.

He says despite these reports about ADM, the future of the ethanol industry is looking bright.

ADM isn’t the only ethanol company considering selling some of its plants, Abengoa is also looking for a buyer for some of its facilities.
