The Executive Board of the South Dakota Legislature met yesterday in Pierre to select summer study topics.
The board decided to study adding more nursing home beds.
Board member, Representative Jim Bolin of Canton has had recent experience in that area……

Bolin says demand is growing, especially in the more populated areas…..

A moratorium was placed on additional nursing home beds in the 1990s, as an effort to control state Medicaid costs.

Bolin says the nursing home study was the top choice of legislators….

Drug abuse and payments for Medicaid providers were the other topics picked for summer studies. Committee members will be chosen next month.
