Activist Groups Spread Misinformation in Presidential Debates

Activist Groups Spread Misinformation in Presidential Debates

Activist groups including PETA have been weighing in on the Presidential election by submitting debate questions asking candidates to protect the environment by promoting a plant based lifestyle. They’re also claiming 51-percent of greenhouse gas emissions are produced by animal agriculture. Hannah Thompson with the Animal Ag Alliance says PETA and the activist groups are spreading misinformation.

She says they’re keeping on top of what activist groups are doing and trying to get the right information out about agriculture to all of the candidates.

Thompson says it’s critical voters make their views known at the ballot box whether it’s the national race or their statewide or local elections.

Some of the topics submitted online to the Presidential candidates lately have mentioned climate change, food security and the environment.
