Getting your lawmakers attention in South Dakota is fairly easy, especially if you send a letter.

Kadyn Wittman with the American Civil Liberties Union of South Dakota has been holding “strongly worded letter” writing parties around the state…..

Wittman says they think the letters have had an impact on issues, pointing to SB49, which dealt with trans-gender students and athletics….

Wittman says while lots of people email and text, handwritten letters are very effective…

The letter writing party scheduled Tuesday evening at the Muenster University Center at USD has been postponed to a later date.
