ACLU Files Lawsuit to Ease Nebraska Prison Overcrowded Conditions

A federal lawsuit has been filed by the American Civil Liberties Union, seeking to ease overcrowded conditions in Nebraska prisons.

While the lawsuit makes a number of claims, David Fathi with the ACLU says there is a simple solution:  reduce prison populations. . .

But, Governor Pete Ricketts says the state has been moving to address the problem. .

Ricketts says the lawsuit would force the release of dangerous prisoners, endangering public safety.
