Schools in the state recently got results of the new “Smarter Balance” achievement testing. Those replace the “Dakota Step” tests that have been used in the past few years.
The first results were for English language use, and in Math. Students in the Yankton School District scored a forty nine point two in English, and a forty one point five in math. English was just under the state average and math just over.

The School Board will hear details of the testing at their meeting today, 5:30pm at the administration building.
