The Biden Administration’s Environmental Protection Agency is very late in getting the Renewable Volume Obligations levels for 2021 out. It should have been issued last year. American Coalition for Ethanol CEO Brian Jennings says the EPA is facing another fast approaching deadline and that’s getting 2022 RVOs proposed and finalized by the statutory deadline. He says that’s why they’ve written to the President asking for movement on those standards.
He says getting the RVOS properly done with maximum volumes of renewable fuels is the fastest way to accomplish the President’s goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions., and ACE shared that in their letter.
The President’s goal of getting to electric vehicles will take time while in the meantime, most of the cars on the road are internal combustion vehicles that need liquid biofuels to attain greenhouse gas emission standards.
Jennings says the best way to reduce greenhouse gas emissions is through higher biofuel blends like E-15 and E-85.
