The recently passed Omnibus budget bill contains restoration of tax credits for retail fuel station owners that offer alternative fuels.  American Coalition for Ethanol Senior Vice President Ron Lamberty says this could further increase availability of E 85 and profitability for retailers. He says this credit went away in 2014 and has now come back.

He says E 85 is not only a competitive fuel, it’s also become popular in the Northern Plains.

Lamberty says flex fuel vehicles have helped generate interest in E 85 and other higher ethanol blends.

Lamberty says this credit is available for E 85 fueling infrastructure only and is scheduled to expire again at the end of 2016.
