A group of Farm State Midwest Congress people this week requested a meeting with President Joe Biden to talk about biofuels and the Renewable Fuel Standard. The group led by Senators John Thune of South Dakota and Chuck Grassley of Iowa want the administration to promote biofuels as a key solution for America’s energy and climate agenda. American Coalition for Ethanol’s Communications Director Katie Muckenhirn says this is the second time the elected officials have sought a meeting with the President on biofuels.
She says biofuels can help the President meet his climate agenda goals., and he can take immediate steps to not only achieve those goals but in turn solve some of the problems facing the renewable fuels industry.
Muckenhirn says there are many immediate actions the President can push forward that would help both biofuels as well as solve carbon emission problems.
She says all of these steps will help in bringing down rising fuel prices which are hurting consumers, small businesses and farmers alike.
