ACE Official Calls Sub Committee Hearing Theater

Wednesday, the House Energy Policy Subcommittee held a hearing looking at EPA’s management of the Renewable Fuel Standard. EPA acting assistant administrator Janet McCabe testified. American Coalition for Ethanol Executive Vice President Brian Jennings says the hearing was slanted against ethanol and nothing more than “theater”.
Oil state Representative James Lankford of Oklahoma chairs that committee. Jennings says it’s just another in a number of attacks against the RFS that doesn’t hold any water or contain any substance.
Jennings says he won’t be surprised if there’s more attacks on the RFS next year when the new Congress convenes either.
Jennings says even though it’s taken the agency a lot of time to get the standard out, it’s more important they get it right than get it done quickly.
