A group of more than 70 American Coalition for Ethanol members are in the nation’s capital this week lobbying administration officials and lawmakers on biofuels policy. Executive Vice President Brian Jennings says their top priority is to convince lawmakers and the EPA for the need to lift the Reid Vapor Pressure rule, so E15 to be offered year-round.
He says by gaining support in Congress, they hope to convince the administration to ask the EPA to lift the RVP regulation.
Jennings says their other priority is getting EPA to leave the RFS point of obligation as is, rather than shifting it from processors to fuel retailers.
Jennings says their members will have more than 100 meetings with lawmakers representing 35 states while they’re in Washington D.C.
