A new analysis done by the Renewable Fuels Association shows that auto manufacturers approve the use of E 15 in two thirds of new vehicles. American Coalition for Ethanol Executive Vice President Brian Jennings says the study is significant because it includes most manufacturers of automobiles in the United States.
Jennings adds that every vehicle Mercedes Benz makes is approved for E 15 as is nearly every vehicle Honda makes. He says this helps give consumers a choice at the pump and when given a choice they’ll choose E 15 and higher blends.
E 15 fuel is currently approved by EPA for all 2001 and newer vehicles accounting for roughly 80 percent of the vehicles on the road today.
