American Coalition for Ethanol members were on Capitol Hill this week at their Fly In event. CEO Brian Jennings says the three main things they spoke to the EPA, the USDA and Congress about were climate change and ethanol’s role in mitigating it and about the need to curtail the RFS refiner waivers and get year round use of E 15 implemented. He says they spoke mainly to freshmen members of Congress about climate change.
He says without solutions to those issues, farmers will likely dive deeper into an economic depression.
Jennings says besides pushing Congress to put pressure on the EPA to stop the refiner waivers, they also will be putting heat on the administration to take action to restore ethanol demand.
Jennings says he was alarmed at how concerned their farmer members are about the ag economic downturn but was proud of how they stood up asking for support for biofuels.
