The American Coalition For Ethanol has submitted written comments to the Environmental Protection Agency on their proposed rule for fuel economy and tailpipe emissions standards. ACE CEO BrIan Jennings says they want the agency to recognize ethanol’s role in reducing vehicle green house gas emissions and how they improve the efficiency of fuels.
He says the EPA needs to establish a minimum octane standard in order to reach their goal of reducing GHG emissions.
Jennings says there’s nothing wrong with having electric vehicles on the road but to achieve true environmental goals, it takes a wide range of fuels and vehicles to get there.
He says the EPA also needs to provide automakers with incentives to produce flexible fuel vehicles.
