A coalition including 10 state corn grower groups, the American Coalition for Ethanol along with the Urban Air Initiative organization are pressuring the Environmental Protection Agency to correct its recent Motor Vehicle Emissions Simulator study. Iowa Corn Growers Association President Jim Greif says the agency’s study is based on flawed and incorrect information.

He says the EPA is also failing to use modern information with their analysis.

Greif says ethanol continues to benefit the environment and the economy as well as farmers. He says the EPA’s Moves model creates fictious ethanol air quality issues and threatens to reverse the RFS air quality gains of the past 15 years.

Greif says their coalition will continue to fight alongside industry partners to welcome scientific examinations which actually test real world fuels and their effect on vehicle emissions and the environment.
