A Dialysis Center Opens at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton.

A new outpatient dialysis center has opened at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton.
The new unit has nine new dialysis machines, four of which have Crit-Line technology. The new center is open six days a week, with three shifts on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Julian Broadland of Freeman has needed dialysis services for over two years and says the new center is a nice change….

Dr Doug Nielsen is the medical director of the center and says the upgrade is a major improvement for their patients….

Nielsen says it has taken a while to get to the new, improved center….

Nielsen says most dialysis patients need the services for years, so an updated facility is critical for their care.
