Up to a million people may descend on western South Dakota this week to take part in the 75th annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

Governor Dennis Daugaard says the state has been planning for quite a while.

Daugaard says the national guard is also part of the preparation.

Daugaard says there will be several coordination points.

The rally officially runs through Sunday.
