5G May Fill in Broadband Gap

With many areas of the state still having limited cellphone and broadband coverage, its hoped 5G technology will fill in those gaps.

South Dakota Public Utilities Commissioner Chris Nelson says it may take a while to get to all rural areas..

Nelson says federal funding will help push the 5G rollout..

Nelson says they have to figure out where the services are most needed…

5G can support broadband speeds of up to 10 gigabits per second.
