44 members of Congress are urging President Trump to deny requests to waive the 2020 Renewable Fuel Standard Volumes. National Biodiesel Board’s Paul Winters says the group led by Midwestern Representatives sent their request to the President in a letter urging his administration’s support for the biofuels industry.

He says the waivers along with the COVID 19 pandemic are causing severe financial strain for biofuels producers.

Winters says the next step the administration must take is following the recent 10th circuit court ruling regarding limiting of the small refiner waivers.

Winters says continued granting of small refiner exemptions would undercut a successful environmental policy that is transitioning the United States to better and cleaner fuels.
