The 2020 South Dakota legislative session was a busy one for the South Dakota Corn Growers Association. Legislative Director Teddi Mueller says they monitored nearly 40 bills and some positive outcomes on water legislation that help producers with flood control issues.
She says another important bill for agriculture that moved forward was SB 157 which streamlines the conditional use permit process to allow additional economic development in the state.
Mueller says state lawmakers also approved measures that clean up some pesticide issues.
She says overall it was a successful session for the agricultural industry.
