South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem gave her “State of the State” speech to the legislature Tuesday with a focus on the economy and families.

She said the state can be a national example…..

Noem said cutting taxes is a priority….

Noem has proposed eliminating the four and a half percent sales tax on groceries.

Noem also proposed extending the state policy on family leave to private businesses….

Legislators have until early March to decide on those and a multitude of other issues.
