Judy Stratman

Judy’s Journal – stratman@wnax.com

A person rarely gets to be a true trailblazer; Judy Stratman was just that as one of the nation’s first female farm broadcasters more than 30 years ago.

Today Judy writes and produces “Judy’s Journal” (a rural lifestyle program that airs daily) with a voice that has become not only a trusted constant, but also a friend to thousands of listeners. Judy is the voice of the Sunday Morning Visit program, another WNAX public service constant of 25 years…plus she has recently joined the WNAX sales team.

Judy’s talents are known both throughout WNAX’s five-state coverage region…and nationally as well. The NAFB named Judy it’s Farm Broadcaster of the Year in the Western Region in 1998, and the National Farmers Union gave her it’s Milk Hackel Award for Excellence in Journalism in 1999. In 2005 she was honored by the National Guard for volunteer service and coverage of military issues and stories.

In addition, the walls of her work area are covered with awards and recognition from various groups and organizations across this part of the nation. Judy was raised in the lifestyle she covers…in rural Northeastern Nebraska. Maybe that’s why her lifestyle reports have become such a “signature”.

Judy is a frequent public speaker and seminar presenter. Together with husband Dick, Judy lives in rural Northeast Nebraska. She and Dick have five (married) children and nine grandchildren. Family has always been priority for Judy. She has a mother near by…plus seven brothers and three sisters.
