What an amazing summer getaway!  It’s your chance to see the sites you’ve always wanted to see! This is a 7-day flyaway that takes you to Washington DC, historic Philadelphia, plus Gettysburg and Harpers Ferry!

Note: This trip requires walking shoes!  We travel around DC like a local — mostly by bus, subway and on foot! You’ll get the full National Monument experience!

The itinerary

Thursday, July 22
Flight to Washington DC — Taxi to hotel
3pm Check in at Club Quarters White House
4:00pm The Mall Memorial March!  This walk will take you to see the Vietnam, Lincoln, Korean, MLK, FDR and Jefferson memorials.

Friday, July 23
9am Depart hotel
10am Capitol Tour
Visit the House & Senate Galleries (if available); plus Visitor Center Exhibits
Lunch on your own at Capitol cafeteria
Visit the frontside of the Capitol & US Supreme Court
Visit Arlington Cemetery and see the Tomb of the UnknownJFK Eternal Flame and visit the Arlington House & Iwo Jima Memorial (If possible).
8pm Scenic walk to the White House and Lafayette Square

Saturday, July 24
7:30am Depart hotel
8am Board the boat for a narrated 90-minute cruise to Mount Vernon
Tour Mount Vernon grounds and Mansion — home to George Washington
Lunch on your own at Mount Vernon
1:30pm 90-Minute Cruise back to DC arriving at 3pm
4pm The White House Experience

Sunday, July 25 Philadelphia Day
Amtrak to Philadelphia
We’ll see the Liberty Bell; Independence Hall; Old Supreme Court; Old Capitol; the President’s House; Ben Franklin grave; the Betsy Ross House; Elfreth’s Alley; first Post Office, Ben Franklin House & Museum & more!

Monday, July 26 Museum Day
9am Depart hotel
10am Air & Space Museum; Natural History, Hirshhorn and/or American History Museums.
1:30pm African American Museum
3:30pm Holocaust Museum
8pm Visit the WWII Memorial

Tuesday, July 27 Gettysburg National Battlefield
7:30am Depart hotel via motorcoach
9am Arrive in Gettysburg for 8-hour battlefield tour
Noon Lunch on your own downtown
5pm Check in at Hotel in Gettysburg

Wednesday, July 28
8am Depart to Harper’s Ferry
John Brown’s Fort; The Point; Jefferson Rock; Cobblestone Streets and more!
Late afternoon arrive in DC for flight home

TRIP TERMS AND CONDITIONS

General
Itinerary and hotels are subject to change. Alternatives may be offered due to closure or unexpected events.
Tour prices are subject to increased rate until booked with a deposit.
Booking a tour indicates you have read and agree with the terms.

Air Travel
Air fare is booked at Economy class group rate. Upgrades may be requested at additional cost.
One carry-on bag, meeting the airline specifications, is included in the trip price.
Additional charges for checked bags may be imposed by the airline and is the responsibility of the traveler.
Airlines may change departure times and/or layover sites. Please check the status one day prior to the flight.

Ground Transportation
Ground transportation is provided by air-conditioned motor coach.
Seat rotation is not enforced.
If you need special accommodations or have concerns during the trip,  please speak with the host and every effort will be made to make suitable arrangements.
All items brought onto the motor coach must be kept clear of the aisle.
Please ensure luggage brought on the motor coach is not excessive and allows for all passengers to be accommodated.

Hotel Accommodations
Hotels are subject to change based on availability at time of reservation.
Elevators are not guaranteed at all properties.
Traveler is responsible for his/her luggage and may have to walk a short distance with their bag.

Special Requirements
All tours require some walking and traveler is responsible for their own luggage. Please request help from the host if needed.
If special accommodations are needed, please communicate this before booking.
Arrangements for special requirements may incur additional costs to the traveler.
