Goodwill of the Great Plains is excited to announce the grand opening of its newest retail store at 700 Bower St. in Vermillion, South Dakota on Thursday, April 4th. The day will kick off with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 9:00am, featuring members of the Vermillion Area Chamber & Development Company; a complimentary lunch will be served from 11:00am-1:00pm, while supplies last and all patrons and guests are invited to register for prize drawing giveaways; winners need not be present to win.
“This momentous occasion not only marks the expansion of Goodwill’s retail footprint but also celebrates its commitment to supporting the mission activities of the organization,” said Goodwill of the Great Plains CEO Briget Solomon. “Community members will have an opportunity to experience the Goodwill treasure hunt while learning more about how their purchases contribute to the vital work of the organization.”
When you shop at any Goodwill of the Great Plains store, you’re not only giving nearly new and gently-used clothing, housewares, furniture and more a second chance, you’re funding our mission of helping people find work.
In 2023, your donations and purchases diverted more than 12 million pounds from landfills and more than 33,000 people were served by Goodwill of the Great Plains job training and placement programs.
Starting as the Wall Street Mission in Sioux City in 1890, Goodwill of the Great Plains joined the international Goodwill movement in 1923. The organization’s territory has expanded over the past 100+ years. The new Vermillion location is the organization’s 22nd retail store in its four-state territory and marks its 9th store in South Dakota.
The Vermillion, SD store will be open Monday-Saturday from 9:00am-9:00pm and on Sundays from 10:00am-6:00pm; donations will be accepted during all regular business hours.
