Yankton Area Arts invites you to unleash your inner artist with a soft pastels painting class taught by artist Tim Peterson. Participants will meet at G.A.R. Hall on Friday, April 6 at 10:00am for a discussion and demonstration and then will work on their own projects in the afternoon. Cost of the class is $45 plus the cost of supplies. Patrons of YAA pay $40 plus the cost of supplies. Participants will be asked to provide their own supplies. The instructor has recommended supplies listed on the Yankton Area Arts website. Anyone interested in the soft pastels painting class must register by visiting YanktonAreaArts.org or calling 605-665-9754 no later than Thursday, March 29.
Tim Peterson, originally from Winot, ND studied art at Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD. His exhibit Scenes from the American West will be on display at GAR Hall Art Gallery from April 6-May 22 with a special reception honoring the artist on Friday, April 6 from 5-7pm.
Yankton Area Arts is a non-profit arts organization located at 508 Douglas Avenue in Yankton. The G.A.R. Hall Art Gallery is open to the public free of charge Monday-Friday 1-5pm and Saturday 1-3pm.
