The Sioux City International Film Festival is happening Febrary 19-25 in Sioux City. Here are some basics about this annual event:

February 19-25, 2017: 13th Annual Fest! Showings at the Orpheum and Stoney Creek Hotel Tickets just $5 each – buy at the door

All SHORT films (30 minutes or less each); Some amazing films 5 minutes or less!

Over 60 national and international films shown over 5 days Entries from USA, Australia, France, Turkey, Canada, Rwanda, England and more Sioux City North High film, area filmmakers 23 Filmmakers confirmed attending; flying in from all over the country and overseas World Premiere movies – first public screening!

$5,000 in cash prizes – awarded by the votes of the audience

Audience votes for their favorite, winner gets $1,000 and prestigious ‘Siouxsie Award’ 2pm Afternoon REPLAY showings at Stoney Creek Hotel, River’s Bend Conference Center

Thursday: Short Documentaries; Friday: ‘Short Shorts’ 7pm Evening showings at Stoney Creek and the Orpheum

Wednesday: Short Documentaries (Stoney Creek Hotel, River’s Bend Conference Center)

Thursday: Short Shorts (films around 5 minutes!) (Stoney Creek, River’s Bend Conference Center)

Friday: Horror and Science Fiction, (Stoney Creek Hotel, River’s Bend Conference Center)

Saturday: Festival Showcase, at the Orpheum Theater

“Silent Film Sunday” at the Orpheum on Sunday, Feb 19, 2pm

Organist will perform LIVE accompaniment on the ‘Mighty Wurlitzer’ organ Nationally known speakers Former head writer for SNL on Friday Sioux City legendary filmmaker George Lindblade on Wednesday After Parties each evening after the show

Thursday: The Grind

Friday: reception & band at Stoney Creek

Saturday: Orpheum, while last votes are tabulated

 Tickets are $5 each at the door before each showing. We suggest tickets be given away in groups of 4 – can be used for any show. All programs “family friendly” (except for a few frightening scenes on ‘Horror/Sci-Fi Night’)  Full schedule online: www.siouxcityfilmfest.com
