YANKTON COUNTY, SD – With last week’s heavy rains and increased flooding throughout the area, once again Yankton County Office of Emergency Management has set up a free self-serve sandbagging station at the Yankton County Highway Department, 3302 W City Limits Road.  Sandbags, ties and sand will be available.  It will remain open as long as needed.  The sandbags on hand measure up to 22 inches in length and 14 inches wide.   When filling the sandbag, limit the weight to 35 to 40 pounds for easier handling.    For more information on this and additional sand bagging tips, please read the article sandbagging for Flood Protection on our website. http://www.co.yankton.sd.us/custom/emergency-management
