The Edith B. Siegrist Vermillion Public Library will host library staff member and local visual artist Susan Heggestad as she leads an introductory block printing workshop on Saturday, March 7th from 2 – 4 pm.
Block printing is one of the oldest forms of printmaking in which a carved block is covered in ink to transfer images onto paper or fabric. This workshop is a basic course and will cover the carving and printing process. Participants will learn about different block printing tools, carve a block, and print their own images. Tools and some materials will be provided. One tote bag will be provided per participant for printing.

Susan is a professional studio and teaching artist, residing in Vermillion. She specializes in printmaking, bookmaking, sculpture, and papermaking.
