Local guitar-virtuoso King will play some of the best sounding instruments in the Museum’s collections: our circa 1934-1936 Gibson ‘Nick Lucas Special’; a 1935 C.F. Martin Model 000-18; and a 1953 Gibson Jumbo (J-185). The late guitar-aficionado John Robert Barmeyer generously donated these and seven more revered vintage American acoustic guitars to the NMM. Curator Sheets and T. Wilson King will offer insights into the historic resonances of each guitar.
