Your chance to experience New York City AND Washington DC on the SAME trip!

Spend the first 6 days and nights in New York City with Steve Crawford! He will show you all the sites!  This is the BEST New York trip you’ll find!  Stay at the Hotel St. James just a few steps from Times Square!

Then after a day of rest, spend ANOTHER 6 days and nights in Washington DC!  You’ll travel from NYC to DC by Amtrak!

Note: This trip requires walking shoes!  We travel around the Big Apple & DC like a local — mostly by subway, bus and on foot! You’ll get the full experience!

Included in the trip:

  • Round trip air from Omaha, Des Moines, Minneapolis & Kansas City.  Prices vary from other airports.
  • Airport transfer to and from hotel
  • Plus highlighted attractions in the itinerary

The Itinerary:

Day 1 — Arrival Day
Morning   Fly from your airport to NYC / Taxi to hotel
Lunch On your own in Times Square
3pm Check in at Hotel St. James
3:30pm Group meeting in hotel lobby
4pm The Steve Crawford Victory March to Rockefeller Center, Walk into (if open) St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Walk into (if available) Trump Tower, see Central Park, Carnegie Hall, the Ed Sullivan Theatre and much more!

Day 2 — Midtown Day
7am Visit the early morning television shows: Good Morning America / TODAY Show / Fox & Friends
9am Take the subway to see Grand Central Terminal; Chrysler Building; then walk back via NYC Library and through Bryant Park.
2:30pm Rockefeller Center tour
Evening Top of the Rock (Optional/Extra$$) or Concert in Bryant Park or Explore Times Square

Day 3 — Uptown Day
9am          Take the subway to Strawberry FieldsBethesda TerraceColumbia University walk-around, St. John the Divine Church, and see Tom’s (Seinfeld) Restaurant
Lunch      at Tom’s Restaurant or other area restaurant
Afternoon Optional: Visit Grant’s Tomb and tour Yankee Stadium (If available)
Evening   Broadway Show Night (Optional/Extra$$) or Movie at AMC theatre (Optional/Extra$$) or Concert at Bryant Park   

Day 4 — Liberty & Downtown Day
9am Ride the subway to Battery Park.
10am Board Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island ferry (Ask about the “Hard Hat Tour” Optional/Extra ($68.50)
Lunch At Statue of Liberty Island or at Ellis Island
9pm See Macy’s; Go to the top of the Empire State Building

Day 5 — 911 & Downtown Day
9am Ride the subway to Battery Park.
Picture opportunity with the Wall Street Bull, visit Federal Hall; see the New York Stock Exchange; Fearless Girl; Alexander Hamilton’s grave at Trinity Church;
Tour 911 Memorial and 911 Museum
Lunch on your own in the area
Walk the Brooklyn Bridge; see St. Paul’s Chapel
Afternoon Go to the top of One World Trade (Optional/Extra$$)
Evening   Harbor Lights Cruise

Day 6 — Getaway Day
Morning  On your own to see any last-minute attractions. You might enjoy taking a carriage ride in Central Park or visit Chinatown!
Stay another night in NYC!

Day 7
Sleep in — later that morning, we’ll ride the Amtrak to Washington DC!

Day 8
Morning Fly to Washington DC from your airport, shuttle to hotel
On your own for lunch
3pm Check in at Courtyard Hotel
4pm The Mall Memorial March!  This walk will take you to see the Vietnam, Lincoln, Korean, MLK, FDR and Jefferson memorials.

Day 9
Tour the Capitol Visitor’s Center; Official Capitol Tour
Visit the US House or Senate Gallery (If available)
Noon Lunch on your own at Capitol Cafeteria
Visit the US Supreme Court (if open); tour the Library of Congress
Walk through Botanical Garden & Sculpture Garden (if time)
Visit the National Archives and Ford’s Theatre & Museum
Night: Scenic walk to the White House and Lafayette Square

Day 10 Museum Day
Visit the Air & SpaceNatural HistoryHirshhorn, and/or American History Museums.
African American Museum; Holocaust Museum afternoon
Night:  Walk to the WWII, Korean & Vietnam Memorials; Lincoln Memorial

Day 11
9am Depart hotel to Mount Vernon
10am Tour the home of George Washington
Lunch on your own at Mount Vernon
Visit Iwo Jima Memorial, then Arlington Cemetery.  You’ll see the Tomb of the UnknownJFK Eternal Flame and the Arlington House.

Day 12
6am Shuttle to Union Station
7am Amtrak train ride to Philadelphia
9:15am Arrive in Philadelphia
You will have the opportunity to visit the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, Congress Hall, the Colonial Supreme Court, Christ Church, Ben Franklin grave, Oldest neighborhood/Alley, Betsy Ross house, Old printing press, Portrait Gallery, US Mint Tour and more!
5pm Arrive at Amtrak Station
Supper At train station

Day 13
Morning Opportunity to visit sites you missed!
Last Day: Travel home!

Price: $4,899 per person double; $4,799 per person triple; $4,699 per person quad; $5,899 per person single

TRIP TERMS AND CONDITIONS

General
Itinerary and hotels are subject to change. Alternatives may be offered due to closure or unexpected events.
Tour prices are subject to increased rate until booked with a deposit.
Booking a tour indicates you have read and agree with the terms.

Air Travel
Air fare is booked at Economy class group rate. Upgrades may be requested at additional cost.
One carry-on bag, meeting the airline specifications, is included in the trip price.
Additional charges for checked bags may be imposed by the airline and is the responsibility of the traveler.
Airlines may change departure times and/or layover sites. Please check the status one day prior to the flight.

Ground Transportation
Ground transportation is provided by air-conditioned motor coach.
Seat rotation is not enforced.
If you need special accommodations or have concerns during the trip,  please speak with the host and every effort will be made to make suitable arrangements.
All items brought onto the motor coach must be kept clear of the aisle.
Please ensure luggage brought on the motor coach is not excessive and allows for all passengers to be accommodated.

Hotel Accommodations
Hotels are subject to change based on availability at time of reservation.
Elevators are not guaranteed at all properties.
Traveler is responsible for his/her luggage and may have to walk a short distance with their bag.

Special Requirements
All tours require some walking and traveler is responsible for their own luggage. Please request help from the host if needed.
If special accommodations are needed, please communicate this before booking.
Arrangements for special requirements may incur additional costs to the traveler.
