This is your chance to see Civil War history with your own eyes!  This trip is limited to 15 people and is what we call a ‘pedestrian’ Civil War trip.   We move quickly and see a lot of sites!

  • You’ll visit Civil War Battlefields at Gettysburg, Harpers Ferry, Antietam, Appomattox, Petersburg, Cold Harbor, Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania, Chancellorsville, the Wilderness, and Manassas.
    Tour the museum at Gettysburg, John Brown Museum, Arlington Cemetery, Museum of the Confederacy, plus Tredegar and Confederate White House

April 6 Fly into Reagan National

  • Travel to Gettysburg: Dinner/Visit downtown Gettysburg
    • See Train Station; Wills House; dinner; shopping

April 7 Tour Gettysburg Battlefield

  • Gettysburg National Battlefield
    • Visitors Center: Cyclorama, Museum and Film
    • Culp’s Hill, Little Roundtop, High Water Mark, Lutheran Seminary, Pickett’s Charge, Reynolds death site, Jenny Wade House, National Cemetery
  • Hotel at EconoLodge-Gettysburg

April 8 Tour Antietam Battlefield / Harpers Ferry

  • Antietam National Battlefield
    • Visitor’s Center; Dunker Church; Bloody Lane; Observation Tower; Burnside Bridge (Survivor tree), JFK
  • Harpers Ferry National Historical Park @ the confluence of the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers
    • Museums via Park Service, restaurants, John Brown, Walking bridge, Jefferson Rock
    • The most important building remaining from John Brown’s raid is the firehouse, now called John Brown’s Fort, where he resisted the Marines.

April 9 Graves of Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson / Appomattox

    • The signing of the surrender documents occurred in the parlor of the house owned by Wilmer McLean on the afternoon of April 9.  We will be at this site on April 9th.  Hundreds of re-enactors, including Grand and Lee are expected to be on-site.  You don’t want to miss this!

April 10 Petersburg Battlefield / Richmond

  • Petersburg National Battlefield
    • Visitors Center Eastern Front; hike to the ‘dictator” and excellent earthworks; Fort Stedman; the Crater.
    • Cold Harbor Battlefield

    • American Civil War Museum; Tredegar Iron Works; Confederate White House, Hollywood Cemetery including the graves of Jeb Stuart, George Pickett, Jefferson Davis, James Monroe (5th President), John Tyler (10th President)

April 11 Fredericksburg; Spotsylvania, Chancellorsville & the Wilderness

  • Stonewall Jackson Death Site
  • This is America’s battleground, where the Civil War roared to its bloody climax. No place more vividly reflects the War’s tragic cost in all its forms.
  • You’ll see Chatham Manor and Ellwood Manor, where Stonewall Jackson’s arm is buried.

April 12 Manassas Battlefield & Arlington Cemetery

Price: $2,499 per person double; $2,399 per person triple; $2,299 per person quad; $2,999 per person single

Trip Assurance is available for $100 per person. With Trip Assurance, if you have to cancel because of a medical condition or death less than 45-days prior to the trip, we’ll refund 40% of your payment; plus you’ll receive another 40% of your payment in the form of a future trip credit, minus the Trip Assurance charge.
You may cancel outside of 45-days with a full refund, minus the flight price and Trip Assurance.

TRIP TERMS AND CONDITIONS

General
Itinerary and hotels are subject to change. Alternatives may be offered due to closure or unexpected events.
Tour prices are subject to increased rate until booked with a deposit.
Booking a tour indicates you have read and agree with the terms.

Air Travel
Air fare is booked at Economy class group rate. Upgrades may be requested at additional cost.
One carry-on bag, meeting the airline specifications, is included in the trip price.
Additional charges for checked bags may be imposed by the airline and is the responsibility of the traveler.
Airlines may change departure times and/or layover sites. Please check the status one day prior to the flight.

Ground Transportation
Ground transportation is provided by air-conditioned motor coach.
Seat rotation is not enforced.
If you need special accommodations or have concerns during the trip,  please speak with the host and every effort will be made to make suitable arrangements.
All items brought onto the motor coach must be kept clear of the aisle.
Please ensure luggage brought on the motor coach is not excessive and allows for all passengers to be accommodated.

Hotel Accommodations
Hotels are subject to change based on availability at time of reservation.
Elevators are not guaranteed at all properties.
Traveler is responsible for his/her luggage and may have to walk a short distance with their bag.

Special Requirements
All tours require some walking and traveler is responsible for their own luggage. Please request help from the host if needed.
If special accommodations are needed, please communicate this before booking.
Arrangements for special requirements may incur additional costs to the traveler.
