It’s not too late to sign up for a beginners’ needle tatting class being offered at RTEC on this Friday and Saturday, Mar. 27 & 28, 2015. It’s a two-part class where you’ll learn the basics of needle tatting on Friday night (5:30-7:30 p.m.), have a chance to practice for a little bit on your own at home and then return for the final part of the class on Saturday morning (8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.).
This Needle Tatting for Beginners class will be instructed by Kay Reimnitz, a life-long crafter from Mitchell, SD. Reimnitz, who wants to share her knowledge with others to be sure the art of tatting lives on, says participants will discover tatting is fun and it’s easier than they might think.
No previous experience is required, making this class ideal for anyone (age 13 and up) who would like to explore a new crafting technique. Registrations will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25. Cost is $40 and includes thread and a #10 tatting needle. Participants will need to bring a scissors and a small (#6) crochet hook.
Call RTEC at (605) 668-5700 and sign up today! A few more individuals are needed in order to offer the class and it might be your last chance to take this “just for fun” class before fall!
