Travel from Anchorage to Talkeetna via motor coach, then climb aboard the train to Denali National Park and Preserve via Alaska Railroad – Adventure class! See beautiful terrain the entire way!

Friday, July 10
Morning: Explore Denali National Park, the highest mountain in North America! Travel the 43-mile Denali Park Road via Denali Park Transit Bus to East Fork Cabin. Transit bus drivers aim to help you experience the park on your own terms. These buses stop for wildlife viewing, restroom stops and beautiful scenery, just like tour buses. The Denali Park Road parallels the Alaska Range and travels through low valleys and high mountain passes. (Wildlife can often be seen roaming on unfenced land).
Afternoon: National Park Dog Sled Demonstration (You’ll have an opportunity to meet actual sled dogs and puppies!

Saturday, July 11 Travel from Denali to the shops/restaurants of Talkeetna with a Jetboat wilderness tour. View Denali from the South View pull off; then a short hike around Reflections Lake!

Sunday, July 12 Spencer Glacier Iceberg Float
The Glacier Discovery train departs Anchorage at 9:45am and travels 50 miles along the picturesque Turnagain Arm. At the arm’s end, the train turns north, passing beneath a series of hanging glaciers and through two tunnels on the way to the next stop in Whittier. The route follows the same spur track back to Portage and then into the Kenai Mountain wilderness. The train pulls into the Spencer Glacier Whistle Stop. From there, we’ll view the Spencer Glacier up close on a guided raft tour: The Spencer Glacier Iceberg Float!

Monday, July 13 Shuttle along the Seward Highway. This National Scenic Byway passes through some of the most spectacular scenery in the country. Visit the Turnagain Scenic Boardwalk; stop at Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center; Visit the Alaska Sealife Center

Tuesday, July 14 Kenai Fjords National Park Cruise; This 6-hour Kenai Fjords National Park Cruise explores the world of whales, wildlife, and glaciers found in Kenai Fjords National Park.

Wednesday, July 15 Visit the Exit Glacier; Exit Glacier is derived from the Harding Icefield in the Kenai Mountains of Alaska and one of Kenai Fjords National Park’s major attractions. It is one of the most accessible valley glaciers in Alaska.

Thursday, July 16 The Homer Spit is a 4.5-mile-long needle of land and is a hub of activity! Enjoy shops, restaurants and charter boats heading out into the bay!
Seldovia Wildlife tour. Seldovia is a small coastal community accessible only by boat or plane. Visit the historic boardwalk and experience excellent views!

For those who don’t go on an excursion, we’ll head to the Pratt Museum. This is a natural history museum focused on the Kachemak Bay area and includes awesome hiking trails. From there, we’ll head to lunch at TBD, then to Two Sisters Bakery! Enjoy a pastry on WNAX!

Trip Assurance is $350 per person. If you need to cancel 90-days prior to the trip, you may do so with full refund, minus the Trip Assurance charge. You will also receive a flight credit, if booked.
Inside 90-days, you will receive a 40% refund and a 40% credit (to include the flight credit).
Trip Assurance is only good until midnight on the day prior to the start of the trip.

Air Travel
Air fare is booked at Economy class group rate. Upgrades may be requested at additional cost.
One carry-on bag, meeting the airline specifications, is included in the trip price.

Airlines may change departure times and/or layover sites. Please check the status one day prior to the flight.
Ground Transportation
Ground transportation is provided by air-conditioned motor coach.
Seat rotation is not enforced.
If you need special accommodations or have concerns during the trip, please speak with the host and every effort will be made to make suitable arrangements.
All items brought onto the motor coach must be kept clear of the aisle.
Please ensure luggage brought on the motor coach is not excessive and allows for all passengers to be accommodated.
