The retired voice of South Dakota State University football and basketball has been at WNAX since 1992. The first 19 years included Jackrabbit play by play duties. Now he is part of the Morning Show and maintains an interest in sports, daily banter and breakroom doughnuts.
Steve has been awarded numerous honors over the years, some of which he deserved. He has been the recipient of awards for Associated Press Sportscaster of the Year, National Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association South Dakota Sportscaster of the Year, North Central Conference Kolpack Media Award winner, and SDSU Alumni Association Non-Alum Service Award among others.
With over 25 years of radio experience and 13 years as a greyhound racing official, it is safe to say that Steve is old.
But a good crisp bugle rendition of “Call to the Post” can get him moving in an instant.
