NCBA Summer Conference Goers Discussing Estate Tax And Trade
National Cattlemen’s Beef Association members have their plate full of issues to kick about as their summer conference kicked off Wednesday in Denver. Association President Steve Foglesong says one they’re very concerned about is the Estate or Death Tax. He says they’re working with Congress and are supporting the Kyl amendment which is at least a start in finding a solution to the problem.
Another economic issue of concern among cattle producers is the lack of implementation of needed free trade agreements. Foglesong says its time Congress got busy and got those deals implemented as we’re getting outdone by our competitors for those markets.
Foglesong says they’ll also hold a panel discussion and talk about GIPSA’s proposed marketing rule that would strengthen the packers and stockyards act.
