Biodiesel Tax Credit and Disaster Aid Pass Senate in Jobs Bill
A $150 billion bill that extends several tax credits and provides job benefits passed the U.S. Senate Wednesday. It contained a disaster aid package and a renewal of the $1-per-gallon biodiesel tax credit.
The American Soybean Association President Rob Joslin says expiration of the biodiesel tax incentive has essentially caused the production and use of biodiesel to cease and has placed thousands of jobs in jeopardy.
He says they have not given up on a longer extension of the tax incentive either.
ASA is urging the Senate to seek agreement with the House on a final bill that can be passed and signed into law as soon as possible.
