Glacial Lakes Corn Drying Expansion Expected To Be Done Soon

A corn drying expansion project that began last year at Glacial Lakes Energy’s ethanol plant in Mina, South Dakota is close to completion. Glacial Lakes Energy CEO Jim Seurer says they hope to finish the project in just a few days.

Seurer says expansion of their corn drying capacity was needed because of the increase in corn acres.  He says it will also allow farmers to deliver wet corn directly to the plant.  Right now many of them have been trying to dry the grain on their own operations.

Seurer says expansion of corn drying capacity is not just unique to the Mina plant.  North Central Elevator of Ipswich and South Dakota Wheat Growers have also expanded drying at their facilities
