South Dakota Young Farmer Program Wins National Award

South Dakota’s Young Farmer And Rancher Committee has been recognized by the American Farm Bureau for their innovative program last November that donated milk to Food Banks following the  PETA protest in Rapid City. Past South Dakota YF and R Chairman Troy Hadrick says their program called the GREAT PETA-Inspired Milk Donation collected milk and donated it while PETA was conducting their protest.

Hadrick says the award given them at the National Y-F and R conference included $500 in cash, which will also help out needy people.

In addition to South Dakota’s success story, Farm and Ranch families of the American Farm Bureau federation raised more than $ 213 thousand dollars, a record and donated more than 4.8 million pounds of food to hungry Americans.
