However, South Dakota Wind Energy Executive Director Ron Rebenitsch says because it took so long for lawmakers to renew the credit program it cost the industry with the loss of many potential projects.
He also says the year to year extension of the tax credit doesn’t provide enough certainty or time for developers to advance viable projects.
Rebenitsch says they’ll continue to work with the state’s Congressional delegation to push for programs and incentives that provide more certainty for wind investors.
