Despite talk late last week and over the weekend about some movement on the fiscal cliff discussion agricultural groups and interests remain cautious. Former U.S. Ag Secretary Clayton Yeutter says he things Congress will ultimately reach an agreement, but he doesn’t think it will take place until the final hour.
However, Yeutter says Congress can’t kick the issue down the road too far.
He says they also need to work out a compromise on food stamps in the pending farm bill or face an extension.
