A year after the restructuring of the SDSU Extension Service Ag Dean Barry Dunn feels good about the outcome. Budget cuts forced the extension service to move to regional centers with a 4-H agent in each county and the cost shared locally. He says a 16-percent increase in 4-H entries at the State Fair and a strong response to the drought are examples of how the restructuring is paying off.
He says they are not sure they’re out of the woods though in terms of future budget cuts and further restructuring.
